Country Come To Town!

Last weekend was my daughters 14th birthday! She wanted to go eat and shopping in the "Big City!" (our favorite thing to do!) My parents flew up to meet us! We had so much fun!
Anyway...we went to the real "Fancy Mall" (Babylon at its best!) (gosh and I love it...I admit it...so guilty!!!!) It really made me think...about excess...about image...and measuring up...Why do we love excess? Why do we always feel as if we have to measure up? Have any of you all seen "Measureless Love" Beth's new DVD? It is AWESOME!!! I love how she says, "All excess is rooted in emptiness"

Two questions she asks that I think are so good to think about...
Who do we keep trying to measure up to?
What empty places are we trying to fill? And what are we filling it with?

Am I now trying to win the approval of men, or of God? Or am I trying to please men? If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a servant of Christ. Galatians 1 :10

I came across your blog from jennyhopes blog. I just want to tell you that you have a beautiful family. I have four children myself and i'm not even close to having it all together. As a matter of fact, it seems that it seems to be falling apart!! Either way, I love my family.
